Dear Friends,

We will continue to meet every Wednesday Noon to 1. We will take a 3-week break for Christmas and New Year. There is usually work for all to do In general, we are “open” 12-1, although I am sometimes there as early as 11:40 and stay as late as 2. “His Church Anglican” 34500 6 Mile Road, Livonia, MI ********************************************************************************** Giving Tuesday. I know that you have already been swamped by requests from many excellent charitable organizations. Our Farmington/Livonia DfG Team does not have any donation matching, we don’t have address labels or calendars. But! We have no overhead costs; HCA graciously lets us use the Parish hall and storage. There is no paid staff, we are all volunteers. I can promise you that all donations go directly into making the DfG feminine hygiene kits and getting them into the hands of the girls that need them. If you would like to donate to our team here is the link. Thank you. https://donate.daysforgirls.org/FarmingtonlivoniaMI

********************************************************************************** We are sending a HUGE DfG kit shipment to CUBA! 1800 kits!!! With the help of these fine Michigan Days for Girls Teams! DfG Plymouth, DfG Howell, DfG Macomb, DfG Otisville! The kits will be loaded onto a container this Friday and shipped to Cuba by the Farm Stew organization. ********************************************************************************** Our kits that we sent to Malawi last January have been distributed! Our team has provided over 750

kits last fall and winter. The kits were sent on a container by the Warm Hearts Foundation. Because of the pandemic, distribution was delayed until this November. It was facilitated by Harriet, a Malawian nurse and midwife who has completed the DfG AWH training, who is employed by the foundation. We provided them with enough flipcharts to leave one at each school. The distribution was a huge success. Please see attached photos of the school girls opening their kits!

********************************************************************************** We are back in the face mask business! Floating Doctors is hoping to get 10,000 masks to distribute in Panama. Panama citizens are not allowed to leave their homes without one. A disposable mask costs about $1.00 and the average daily income is about $2-3. We will have mask kits for you to take home (10 masks per kit, that includes 20 pieces of cut fabric, elastic, and nose wires) The same instructions as before. BUT, please feel free to use any style of mask that you prefer. AND of course, you can make masks using the stash you already have at home! (Let us know if you need elastic) I believe this will be going through December (perhaps longer.)

**********************************************************************************

If you are interested in cool Days for Girls stuff (like t-shirts, hats, bags) that will make cool Christmas presents, please go to their website and check it out! http://www.daysforgirls.org/merch

********************************************************************************** We will take a break for the Holidays, Christmas/New Year Dec. 23, 30 and Jan. 6. AND! All bad snow days and dangerous windchill days will be called off. ON THOSE DAYS, I will post on

FACEBOOK OR if you are concerned PLEASE send an email by 11 am on Wednesday. ********************************************************************************** I am astounded week after week, of our volunteers who show up, masked up, in the parking lot at HCA, to exchange shields, liners, transport bags all in varying degrees of being completed to

the next person who will be working on that part. Underwear goes out flat and comes back in a rolled nugget with whites set aside. This team has still been incredibly productive despite the pandemic restrictions. Your ability to pivot and take it all in stride is an amazing feat of teamwork. I am so proud of this team. If you have any questions, send an email!

You can wait in your car (if you choose) and someone will come to you!

Thank you! I am Blessed by all of you and by this work we do together,

Susan Smith
